Trudeau was born and raised in the South Bay of San Diego in a family that prized music. At a young age, he showed an aptitude for making music and making deals, both of which he began doing as soon as he could. Whatever he could get his hands on to make music he would, even to the point of selling his first beat in ninth grade. In his teens, he managed, promoted, and booked artists with national platforms.

When the Internet was growing in the ’90s, Trudeau saw an opportunity to reach a broader audience. He created and organized the first e-mail distribution list of its kind for hip-hop enthusiasts that quickly grew to more than 10,000 members worldwide. He also built Web sites and wrote for various publications.

Combining his love for music and business came natural to Trudeau, and by the late ’90s, he was making national distribution deals for his band Sackcloth Fashion that launched the little known hip hop group to the national stage and allowed the band to retain full rights to its music – a deal that was unheard of at the time.

Trudeau, along with his family, built a music label imprint from the ground up that eventually became Syntax Records. He signed artists from around the country who went on to become underground hip shop super stars. All before the age of 25, Trudeau managed a roster of nationally touring music artists and oversaw promotion, publicity and production.

In 2004 Trudeau decided to roll the dice and leave his day job and work full-time launching the corporation Quality Junk. This all-or-nothing approach would later become the backbone necessary to turn his hobby into his career.

Based in San Diego where it all began, Quality Junk is the parent company for Syntax Records, Syntax Distribution, Syntax Creative, Stratify Music, and Discountmusic.us. Quality Junk offers services business to business ranging from owning or administering copyrights to representing the worldwide exclusive rights to more than 30,000 songs and launching a brand from concept to creation. As CEO, Trudeau assembled a special task force of talented and creative individuals to help Quality Junk’s clients look sleek and relevant while reaching their goals.

His experience and passion are evident in not only how he does business, but how he lives his life. Tim Trudeau is a self-made man who takes calculated risks and would rather work to find a solution than be stopped by roadblocks or setbacks. When faced with obstacles, he says he simply will not give up, and that tenacity has lead him to create an empire of organizations that meet the needs of his clientele.

Musically, Musser is part of Quality Junk’s roots. Born and raised in San Diego, California, he grew up with a natural aptitude for playing the piano. He learned other instruments and found music to be his form of self-expression. He graduated from San Diego Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. His talent led him to join Sackcloth Fashion, the eclectic indie band that launched Syntax Records in 1997. He contributed to many of Syntax’s albums including the Fashion Expo double compilation CD. His collaborative credits are seen all over the Syntax Records catalog. Musser also released the solo projects Piano Collection volumes one and two.

Over time, Syntax Records grew into more than a record label. With the rise of Quality Junk, a legitimate parent corporation, Musser’s skill set was in high demand. As a performing artist, producer, songwriter and engineer, Musser knew the industry inside and out and was a perfect choice when CEO Tim Trudeau tapped him to join the Quality Junk staff officially in 2005 as their Director of Content and Operations. Once on board, his trustworthy work ethic became essential to the team.

Musser is dedicated to his clientele’s satisfaction. His loyalty makes him passionate about Quality Junk’s quest to help businesses be modern, relevant and cutting-edge.

The San Diego native is also a gifted songwriter and performer who lives his heart-felt lyrics. He started off as a music artist listening to the very company that he would later call home — Syntax Records. The artists he heard such as MaxOne and Othello inspired him, and he sought out the people behind his favorite label in as many concerts as he could. That’s how Jeremiah created and fostered a relationship that eventually led to his employment.

Since then, Bonds has benefited from both sides of the business, being behind the scenes as well as center stage. In addition to his duties with Quality Junk, he has appeared on the popular compilation series Night Owls, volumes three, four and five. He is also featured on Wages of Syntax, volume two.

His youthful charm mixed with age-old skill makes him the quintessential Quality Junk member and positions him to help take the company into the future. Bonds is excited to expand Quality Junk’s reach and develop his skills as a both an artist and a business man.

Johnson studied Music Business Law and Publishing at Berklee School of Music in Boston. He was Publishing Administrator at New Century Soul Records prior to being recruited by CEO Tim Trudeau to join Quality Junk in 2007. His quiet stability and wisdom proved to be an asset for the team.

In his role at Quality Junk, Johnson handles copyright administration, master and sync license negotiations, artist performing rights organization issues, music licensing, and all day-to-day operations related to the music publishing business. His work consists of handling inquiries for the use of Quality Junk music in commercials and other projects. He also assists in contract reviews.

Johnson has a vision to give structure to the vibrant indie scene. He has a grassroots, hands-on approach to building music careers. He sees Quality Junk moving into the future with a solid business foundation as well as securing and fostering healthy relationships with its artists. In the ever fluctuating music world, Johnson feels poised and ready to help leverage Quality Junk into new opportunities for growth and expansion.
